SCOTTISH AMATEUR CHAMPIONSHIP - Twelve from Ayrshire bid for national crown in Aberdeenshire

Twelve Ayrshire golfers will bid for the Scottish Amateur Championship title when the 2021 event is held from the 27th to the 31st of July over the North east courses of Murcar Links and Portlethen, in Aberdeenshire.

The 64 top placed players after the two strokeplay qualifying rounds will progress to the matchplay stages over the remainder of the week. 

The Ayrshire challenge is led by Scottish internationalist Stuart Easton from Irvine and the new Ayrshire Strokeplay title holder Jack Broun from Turnberry, and includes the Prestwick St Nicholas pair Alyx Murray and Sandy Buchanan, Kilmarnock Barassie's Cameron Johnstone, Jim McCullagh and Robbie Muir, Royal Troon's Alastair Frood and Michael Smyth, along with Shaun Hedger from West Kilbride, John Bisset from Prestwick and Harvey McDonald from Ayr Belleisle..
