SCOTTISH MEN'S AREA TEAM CHAMPIONSHIP - Ayrshire team selected for opening match

The Ayrshire A Team open their bid for the 2026 Scottish Men's Area team Championship on Sunday the 3rd of May against Lanarkshire at Kirkhill Golf Club, with the team being selected and announced shortly after the Ayrshire Men's Strokeplay Championship recently.

The new Ayrshire Men's Strokeplay Campion Alan McLean (Largs) is joined in the teeam by 2025 Ayrshire Order of Merit winner John Shanks (Irvine), 2025 Ayrshire Men's Strokeplay Champion Harvey Broadfoot (Royal Troon) along with Craig Hamilton (Ballochmyle) , Blair Morton (Royal Troon) and Steven Stamper (Turnberry).

The match comprises three fouromes ties in the morning and six singles ties in the afternoon. 

Ayrshire ar at home in the other two qualifying section matches, on the 7th of June against Lothians at Ballochmyle GC and on the 12th of July against Glasgow at Ayr Seafield.

The Scottish Men's Area team Championship finals weekend will be held on the weekend of the 5th and 6th of September at Largs GC.
