The Ayrshire Golf Association team lost out to Lanarkshire in their opening 2026 Scottish Men’s Area Team Championship match at Kirkhill GC on Sunday 3rd May.
The match saw some spectacular scoring from both teams, with Lanarkshire ultimately prevailing.
In the morning foursomes Lanarkshire took a crucial 3-0 lead into the afternoon singles, and when honours were shared in the afternoon singles 3-3 the overall result was 6-3 in favour of Lanarkshire.

In the other match in the section Lothians beat their visitors from Glasgow by 6.5-2.5 at The Glen GC.
