AYRSHIRE JUNIOR GOLF LEAGUE - Competition updates

All the Ayrshire Junior Golf League competitions are well under way, with several fixtures being completed recently.

In the LEAGUE CHAMPIONSHIP, three fixtures have been completed in each of the two qualifying sections.

In Section A Turnberry had a narrow 3.5-2.5 home win over Troon Welbeck while Ayr Belleisle opened with a 5-1 home win over Irvine, who recorded the first away win of the campaign with a 4-2 win at Troon Welbeck.

Present postions in Section A are:-


In Section B Kilmarnock Barassie edged out their visitors from Prestwick St Cuthbert by 3.5-2.5 while there were away wins for Kilmarnock Barassie and West Kilbride over Ballochmyle by 4-2 and 5-1 respectively.

In round one of the UNDER 16 KNOCKOUT TROPHY competition Troon Welbeck received a walkover from Ballochmyle while Ayr Belleisle beat their visitors from Prestwick St Nicholas by 4-0 and Prestwick St Cuthbert recorded a 2.5-1.5 away win at Kilmarnock Barassie.

The result of the fixture between West Kilbride and Turnberry has still to be confirmed before the quarter final line up is confirmed.

In the WALLACE THORNTON TROPHY the two first round ties resulted in an away win for Turnberry by 3-1 over Ayr Belleisle and a home win for Kilmarnock Barassie over irvine by 2.5-1.5

The quarter final line up is

West Kilbride Vs Ballochmyle
Turnberry Vs Prestwick St Nicholas
Kilmarnock Barassie vs East Ayrshire 
Prestwick St Cuthbert Vs Troon Welbeck. 

In the JUNIOR CHAMPION OF CHAMPIONS TROPHY competition, Jenson Fergusson (Prestwick St Cuthbert) had a 4&3 home win over Alyssa Gillies (Ballochmyle), while Harris Vennard (Ayr Belleisle) received a walkover from Finlay Vallely (Prestwick st Nicholas)

Sandi Rogerson (Kilmarnock Barassi) had a 5&4 away win over Jake davis (Caprington) while Adam Balfour (Troon Welbeck) progressed to round 2 with a 7&5 home win over Connor Molloy (Annanhill)

The results of the remaining three outstanding first round ties have still to be confirmed.
