AYRSHIRE JUNIOR ORDER OF MERIT - Max Barclay leads title chase

Max Barclay (Ayr Belleisle) leads the chase for the Ayrshire Junior Order of Merit title as the list of counting events are well under way, following recent junior open competitions at Largs and Troon Welbeck, and the West of Scotland Boys Championships at Rowallan Castle.

Max followed his win in the opening event, the Golf South Ayrshire Junior Strokeplay, with a joint second place in the West of Scotland Boys Strokeplay, runner up spot in the West of Scotland Boys Matchplay and third in the Troon Welbeck Open, to open a clear gap ahead of his closest challenger, Connor Wills, who enhanced his position with a runner up place at Largs and a fourth place in the Troon Welbeck Open.

Harvey Broadfoot moved into third place in the table following a seventh place at Largs and first spot in the Troon Welbeck Open.

Counting competitions during July include the Loudoun Junior Open, the Scottish Boys and Girls’ Championships, The Harris Junior Open at West Kilbride and the Golf South Ayrshire Tom Lehman Junior Open over the Troon municipal courses.
