Harvey Broadfoot (Royal Troon) was the highest placed of the Ayrshire players in the qualifying, fourth spot on 140, two under par for the two qualifying rounds.
Harvey was joined in the matchplay rounds by Jack Crawford (West Kilbride), Jamie Hay (Ayr Belleisle), Jenson Fergusson (Royal Troon), Steven Stamper (Turnberry) and Findlay Andrew (Turnberry), with the qualifying score falling at 149 (+7).
The Ayrshire interest in the matchplay stages extends to Australian resident Campbell Kerr, whose family originate from the Galston area, who qualified in joint 24th place on 146 (+4).

The matchplay rounds commence over the Royal Aberdeen links on the morning of Thursday the 30th of July.
