The Ayrshire Junior Golf league fixtures in all competitions are progressing towards the finals days in August.
In the AYRSHIRE JUNIOR GOLF LEAGUE CHAMPIONSHIP, Irvine moved level on points with Turnberry at the top of the table after a 4-2 home win over Prestwick St Nicholas recently, and need at least a draw in the final fixture of the section, away to Prestwick St Nicholas, if they are to progress to the final.
Present positions in Section A are:-
In SECTION B, West Kilbride moved into second place with victories at home to East Ayrshire and away against Prestwick St Cuthbert by 4.5 - 1.5 and 3.5 - 2.5 respectively, but Kilmarnock Barassie boosted their qualification hopes, and set back West Kilbride's, with a 5-1 away win over West Kilbride on Friday the 10th of July. The same evening Prestwick St Cuthbert completed their home fixtures with a 3-3 draw with East Ayrshire.
With five fixtures still to be completed, present positions in Section B are:-
Kilmarnock Barassie vs Ballochmyle
Ballochmyle Vs Prestwick St Cuthbert
East Ayrshire Vs Ballochmyle
East Ayrshire vs West Kilbride
West Kilbride vs Prestwick St Cuthbert
In the UNDER 16 KNOCKOUT COMPETITION, the four semi finalist have been confirmed as:-
Troon Welbeck
Turnberry
Irvine
and
Ayr Belleisle
In the WALLACE THORNTON TROPHYcompetition, Turnberry claimed a semi final place with a 2.5 - 1.5 home win over Prestwick St Nicholas in their second round tie.
With Turnberry and Kilmarnock Barassie already confirmed as semi finalists, the other two places will be filled by the winners of the second round ties between West Kilbride and Ballochmyle, and Prestwick St Cuthbert and Troon Welbeck.
In the AYRSHIRE JUNIOR CHAMPION OF CHAMPIONS TROPHY competition, Harris Vennard (Ayr Belleisle) and Euan Forrest (West Kilbride) are already confirmed as semi finalists, with the results of the ties between Adam Balfour (Troon Welbeck) and Gregor Hay (Turnberry), and Findlay Andrew (2025 Ayrshire Boys Strokeplay Champion) and Zak McCallum (Loudoun) in the lastg four.
