The championship is contested by the available players returning the eight best scratch scores in the strokeplay event.
With just one potential qualifier unavailable for the matchplay, the cut for the 2026 championship saw two of four players on a score of 73 qualifying for the matchpklay event, by virtue of the better inward half.
Paul Moultrie (Royal Troon) led the qualifiers with a score of 67, with Craig Robertson (Turnberry) taking the second qualifying spot on 69.
