Michael Smyth (Royal Troon) has extended his lead at the top of the 2021 Ayrshire order of Merit for the Doc Thom salver, following his win in the 36 hole Belleisle Cup on Sunday the 6th of June.

The Corum Belleisle Cup was contested in very good conditions. Graeme Gimson of Prestwick St Cuthbert shot a 1 under par round of 70 to lead by 1 after round 1.
The second round brought lower scoring with 2 68s and 3 69s but the winner,
with rounds of 71 & 65 for a total of 136, was Michael Smyth of Royal
Troon, 4 shots ahead of Keith Hamilton, also of Royal Troon.
The win gave Michael Smyth maximum points from the competition for the Order of Merit, with Keith Hamilton (Royal Troon) gaining his first points of the season as runner up.
Blair Morton (Royal Troon) moved into second place in the Order of merit after sharing points for an equal third spot in the Belleisle Cup with Harvey McDonald (Ayr Belleisle)
The previous day, Saturday the 5th of June, another counting event, the Ayr Seafield Open, took place.
Top points were shared by Ryan Morrison (Ayr Seafield) and Kevin Thomas (Prestwick St Cuthbert) who both scored 67's, with Paul Dickson (Ayr Seafield) securing the points for third place, a shot further back.
