There are still places available for pairings to sign up for the 2024 Ayrhsire mixed greensomes knockout competition, for The Ayrshire Jug.

Entries close at the end of February, or when the first 64 entries are received, whichever comes first.

Entry is open to pairings of one male and one female member who are both members of clubs affiliated to The Ayrshire Golf Association. The players do not need to be members of the same club.

Entry is £10 per couple and the entry form should be available through club secretaries. It can also be downloade via the link on te left of this page, under the 'Entry Forms' heading, or can be obtained by contacting the Area Secretary, Alasdair Malcolm, by email at ayrshire.golf@btinternet.com

AYRSHIRE GOLF ASSOCIATION EXTENDED COMPETITIONS - Four days left for clubs to enter

There are just four days left for clubs to enter the extended Ayrshire Golf Association competitions for the 2024 season.

Entry forms for the various events were emailed to club secretaries several weeks ago.

THE AYRSHIRE JUNIOR GOLF LEAGUE - Draws made for 2024 competitions

The draws have been made for the 2024 Ayrshire Junior Golf League competitions.

Nine teams will contest the AYRSHIRE JUNIOR GOLF LEAGUE CHAMPIONSHIP. Teams will play home and away matches in two qualifying sections, with the section winners going forward to play off for the league championship trophy and title.

The qualifying sections draw was :-

SECTION A - Ayr Belleisle, Kilmarnock Barassie, East Ayrshire, Prestwick St Cuthbert & Turnberry.

SECTION B - Troon Welbeck, Irvine, West Kilbride & Prestwick St Nicholas.

All qualifying section fixtures are scheduled to be completed by 30th July.

In the UNDER 16 KNOCKOUT TROPHY there were nine entrants, which resulted in one round one tie and four quarter final ties.

The draw for the first two rounds is:-

With 7 competing teams in the WALLACE THORNTON TROPHY event, Kilmarnock Barassie received a bye into the semi finals. The three first round matches, to be played by 30th of June, are:-

Also for the diary is the Ayrshire Junior Golf League Annual Dinner, being hosted by Prestwick St Nicholas, on Monday the 4th of November 2024.

Other fixture dates and venues finalised recently include the AYRSHIRE JUNIOIR TEAM CHAMPIONSHIP, which takes place at Kilbirnie Place GC on Sunday 21st April and the AYRSHIRE BOYS CHAMPIONSHIP & the new AYRSHIRE GIRLS' CHAMPIONSHIP which are both scheduled to be held at Annanhill GC on Thursday the 1st of August 2024.
