The six man team will play strokeplay qualifying rounds on the opening day with the top eight teams progressing to the matchplay stages over the following two.

TOMMY McINALLY (Loudoun) has won multiple Ayrshire trophies including five wins in the Champion Of Champions, three Ayrshire Strokeplay titles, and Ayrshire Matchplay win and a Doc Thom Ayrshire Order Of Merit title. He was also the winner of the West Of Scotland Strokeplay Championship when it was reintroduced in 2016. A stalwart of the Ayrshire county side, he is one of two players in this years team who were members of the Ayrshire sides who won the Area team Championship in both 2008 and 2015.

JIM JOHNSTON (Ayr Belleisle) is the current holder of the Ayrshire Strokeplay title and is rapidly becoming a familiar figure in Scottish golf, having had a number of notable finishes throughout the country in 2018.

MICHAEL SMYTH (Royal Troon) is the current Ayrshire Matchplay champion and has enjoyed a number of successes over the years in Ayrshire competitions, having won the Champion Of Champions trophy for the first time in 2017 to add to his four matchplay titles and two Doc Thom Order of Merit wins.

SCOTT BROWN (Prestwick St Cuthbert) won all three Ayrshire titles at boys level, with the Strokeplay, Matchplay and Order of Merit crowns, and has continued to perform well during his senior career with county title wins in the Ayrshire Matchplay and Champion Of Champions events.
He was also a member of the Ayrshire side who won the mens Area Team Championship at Blairgowrie in 2015.

JACK BROUN (Ayr Belleisle) is a two time winner of the Ayrshire Boys Championship and a winner of the Junior Order Of Merit title and is a current Scotland Boys internationalist. He made his debut in the Mens Area team Championship in 2017 when he was a member of the Ayrshire team who contested the title at Dalmahoy and progressed to the matchplay stages.

JOHN SHANKS (Irvine) has won the Ayrshire county Strokeplay and Order of Merit titles at both boys and men's levels as well as winning the men's Matchplay title and Champion Of Champions Trophy. Like Tommy McInally, John Shanks was a member of the Ayrshire sides who won the Mens Area Team Championship in both 2008 and 2015, and had the distinction of sinking the winning putt in the final when Ayrshire last won the event at Blairgowrie three years ago.
