The Ladies’ and Girls’ matches are taking place at Ballybunion in
Ireland whilst the boys’ competition is at Royal Dornoch.
The Ladies and girls began their campaigns on Wednesday 8th
August with their opponents being Wales.
In the ladies’ match Scotland won the
foursomes 2.5 – 0.5 and took the singles 4 – 2 for a 6.5 – 2.5 victory overall.
Connie Jaffrey (Troon Ladies) contributed half a
point in the morning foursomes alongside Eilidh Briggs and sat out the
afternoon foursomes whilst Hazel
MacGarvie (Troon Ladies) , on her full international debut, won both her
morning foursomes alongside Chloe Goadby before crushing her opponent by 6&5
in the afternoon singles.

The girls also face England on day two.
In the Boys Home Internationals at Royal Dornoch,
Scotland opened on Tuesday with a heavy defeat to England and fared no better
on Wednesday against Ireland.
On Tuesday England ran out winners by 10 – 5 over
Scotland whilst Ireland fared even better on Wednesday, recording a 10.5 – 4.5
win over the host nation.
Ayrshire’s Jack
Broun (Ayr Belleisle) lost both his foursomes and singles on the opening day
whilst Ruben Lindsay (Ayr Belleisle) lost out in his debut in the singles,
having sat out the morning foursomes.

the opening foursomes where Ireland ran out 5 – 0 winners, with both Ayrshire
players selected for the foursomes.
In the afternoon singles, Scotland lost out by 4.5 –
3.5 to give Ireland an overall victory of 10.5 – 4.5.
Both Lindsay and Broun halved their afternoon
singles on Wednesday against Ireland.
