Scotland’s Woman’s and Girl’s teams both failed to make the
top flight for the Matchplay stages of the European Team Championships on
Wednesday, 8th July.
In the Woman’s championship in Denmark, Scotland finished in
thirteenth place after the two qualifying rounds, with a team total of 748.
Ayrshire’s Connie Jaffrey (Troon ladies) slumped to an 80 in
her second round which was the non counting score from the six for Scotland.
England were top qualifiers on 710
In the Girl’s European Team Championship in the Czech
Republic Scotland finished in fifteenth place.
The two Ayrshire players
from the Troon Ladies club, Hazel McGarvie (73) and Emma Hale (78) provided the only scores by a Scotland player below 80 in the qualifying rounds, both on day
two.
Spain were runaway leading qualifiers on 729, a full eighteen
shots ahead of second placed Germany.
