After a six under par opening round on the Jubilee course on Friday, and a cancelled second round, McDonald was in joint second place, but successive rounds of 77 on the Old Course on Sunday dropped him down to joint fourteenth place, on 220, six strokes adrift of the eventual winner Federico Zucchetti from Italy.
