ST ANDREWS LINKS TROPHY - McDonald lies in second place as round 2 is abandoned

Jack McDonald (Kilmarnock Barassie) is well placed in the 2015 St Andrews Links Trophy, as play in the second round was suspended then abandoned, due to the gales hitting Fife ant the rest of Scotland on Saturday 6th June.

In the opening round on Friday, over the Jubilee course, McDonald had a six under par 66 to share second place with fellow Scot Connor Syme, just one shot behind the tournament leader Cormac Sharvin from Ireland.

Leading scores after round one were :-

65 - Cormac Sharvin (Ireland)
66 - Jack McDonald (Kilmarnock Barassie), Connor Syme (Drumoig)
67 - John-Ross galbraith (Ireland)
68 - mario Galiano (Spain)
69 - Michele Cea (Italy), Greig Marchbank (Thornhill), Richard Mansell (Beau Desert), Cedric Van Wassenhove (Belgium), paul Kinnear (Formby)

The only other Ayrshire player in the field was Euan Walker (Kilmarnock Barassie) who was in joint 23rd place after a one under par 71 in the opening round.

Following the abandonment of round two, all players who scored 72 or better in the opening round will play a further 36 holes over the Old Course on Sunday 7th June, with play commencing at 06.45 in the morning.
