Ayrshire were held to a draw, their second successive halved match, when they took on title holders Renfrewshire in the second of their five West Of Scotland Inter County Under 18 League matches, at Ayr Belleisle on Sunday 19th June.
Defeats for Reuben Lindsay (Ayr Belleisle) and Liam Kirkhan (Troon Welbck) in two of the four under 16 ties were offset by a 7 & 5 win by Ewan Milligan (Kilmarnock Barassie), but a narrow one hole loss by Alyx Murray (Troon Welbeck) gave the visitors a 3 - 1 advantage with the four under 18 ties still on the course.
Andrew Gordon (Ayr Belleisle) started the Ayrshire revival with a 3 & 1 win, and 3 & 2 wins for both Robbie Muir (Kilmarnock Barassie) and Murray McCrone (Troon Welbeck) gave Ayrshire a 4 - 3 lead with one tie remaining.
Despite his best efforts, Blair Fleming (Troon Welbeck) was defeated by 2 & 1 to leave honours even in a 4 - 4 draw.
