WEST DIVISION WOMANS INTER COUNTY CHAMPIONSHIP - Ayrshire lose out to Lanarkshire on day one

The Ayrshire Ladies’ team narrowly lost out to Lanarkshire in the opening day of the 2016 West Division Inter County Womans Championship on Monday 20th June at Douglas Park Golf Club.

Despite losing the morning foursomes 3 – 0, Ayrshire fought back in the afternoon singles And wins by Emma Hale, Lorna Ronnie and Jenny Linklater brought the scores level before Lanarkshire edged ahead again when Debbie Watt lost out at the seventeenth.

Unfortunately for Ayrshire, their fightback fell just short, when the remaining two singles ties, involving Louise Duncan and Catherine Malcolm, both finished all square, leaving Lanarkshire the winners overall by 5 – 4.
