The championship, which is held over 36 holes, is open to junior boys, under the age of 18 on 1st January 2017, who are members of a club affiliated to The Ayrshire Golf, Association.
The handicap limit is 12 and entry fee is £10.
The top eight players in the championship will go forward to contest the Ayrsahire BOys matchplay championship over the Prestwick golf course from 7th to 10th August.

The winner of the championship will also be put forward for a place in the field of the Scottish Junior Champion Of Champions event at the end of the season.

The Ayrshire Girls' Championship will also be held at Largs on the same day, over 18 holes. Further details on the girls' competition can be obtained from The Ayrshire Ladies' County Golf association.
Both events will be qualifying competitions for the Daily telegraph Junior Championship.
