Following their second conceded match of
the season in DIVISION 3 of the Ayrshire Scratch Leagues, Ardeer have been
withdrawn from the league and will face playing in Division 5 next term.
The first conceded match, against
Caprington, was followed recently by a second concession to Kilbirnie. As per
the rules of competition, two or more conceded matches leads to
disqualification from the rest of that seasons matches followed by relegation
to the lowest league for the following year, and in addition all match results
for the season played so far are declared null & void.
Following adjustment of the table,
Caprington kept their hopes alive with a 4 – 2 home win over Rowallan Castle.

In DIVISION 1, Prestwick St Cuthbert moved
to the top of the table alongside Kilmarnock (Barassie) following a 4 – 2 home
win over Loudoun, when Kilmanrock (Barassie) could only draw 3 – 3 at home to
Turnberry.
Title holders Irvine saw their hopes of a
third successive championship win almost entirely extinguished following a 5 –
1 defeat at Ballochmyle.

Welbeck firmly at the bottom of the table, whilst in other matches recently,
Girvan had a 3.5 – 2.5 home win over West Kilbride, while Ayr Belleisle crushed
their visitors from Troon St Meddans by 5 – 1.
