Ayrshire suffered their seconsd successive defeat in the Scottish Men's Area Team Championship on Sunday the 7th of June at Ballochmyle when they were overwhelmed by Lothians in the afternoon singles.
The morning foursomes were shared 1.5 - 1.5, with Ayrshire close to taking a lead into the afternoon signles when A superb second shot from Angus Carrick for the Lothians pairing set up a winning birdie four at the last against Craig Hamilton and Graeme Gimson to secure a half point for the visitors.

Craig Hamilton (Ballochmyle) & Graeme Gimson (Preswtwick St Cuthbert) halved with Angus Carrick & Craig Davidson
Calum Nairn (Prestwick St Cuthbert) & Harvey Broadfoot (Royal Troon) lost 5&3 to Marc Reid & Malcolm Pennycott
Alan McLean (Largs) & Steven Stamper (Turnberry) beat Jake Edgcombe & Craig Surgeon by 6&4

In the afternoon singles it was former Ayrshire county player Malcolm Pennycott who put the first point on the board for the visitors in the singles with an emphatic win over Graeme Gimson which was added to shortly after when Marc reid beat Alan McLean.
The remaining four singles ties went to the final hole but only Steven Stamper in the anchor tie secured a half match, with the other three ties going to the Lothians team by a single hole.
