DOC THOM AYRSHIRE ORDER OF MERIT - Gowf Cup victory moves Blair Morton into third spot

Victory in the latest Doc Thom Ayrshire Order of Merit counting event, The Gowf Cup at Loudoun Gowf Club on Sunday 21st June, has moved Blair Morton (Royal Troon) into third spot in the order of Merit table with 12 of the 25 counting events now completed in 2026.

Successive rounds of 67 gave Blair a total of 134 and a two shot victory over Craig Hamilton (Ballochmyle) and Matt Allen (Western Gailes) on 136.

A best of the day round of 64 in the afternoon saw Craig Telfer (Prestwick St Cuthbert) share fourth spot with Greg Jarvie (Loudoun) two shots further back on 138.

Other recent local counting events in the Doc Thom Ayrshire Order of Merit completed include The Macgilchrist Cup at Ardeer where Paul Giffney of the host club took top spot with a 76, The Ayr Seafield Open where Steven Stamper (Turnberry) and Colin Goudie (Ayr Belleisle) shared top points with scores of 66, and the 36 holes qualifying rounds in the Ayr Golf Championship (Tam O Shanter) where jamie Hay (Ayr Belleisle) took full points with a 36 hole total of 138.

The next counting event is the Hillhouse Cup at Royal Troon on Sunday the 28th of June.
