AYRSHIRE MEN'S HANDICAP LEAGUE - Qualifying section updates

The eight qualifying sections in the 2026 Ayrshire Men's Handicap League Championship continue towards a conclusion, despite the postponement of several fixtures recently due to course weather closures.

In GROUP 1, West Kilbride lead the way while Largs maintained their hopes with a 5-1 home win over Kilmarnock Barassie.

With six fixtures remaining, present positions in Group 1 are:- 

In GROUP 2, Prestwick St Cuthbert remained in touch with section leaders Moorpark following a 3-3 draw between the two clubs at St Cuthbert recently.

With five fixtures still to be played, present positions in Group 2 are:-


In GROUP 3, Golf South Ayrshire lead from Ayr Seafield, following a 3-3 draw away to Irvine, with the two leading clubs due to meet in a potential qualification decider on Sunday 28th June at Ayr Belleisle.
Irvine moved ahead of Troon St meddans with a 3.5-2.5 away win in the recent fixture between the two clubs.

With five fixtures still to be completed, present positions in group 3 are:-

In GROUP 4, Tam O Shanter boosted their qualification hopes with a 5-1 away win over Portmann recently.

With three fixtures remaining to be played, the home fixture for Tam O Shanter against Auchenharvie 88 will decide the qualification for the knockout stages.

Two scheduled fixtures in GROUP 5 have been postponed recently due to weather related course closures, and with five fixtures still to be completed, present positions in the section are:-

In GROUP 6, the latest fixture saw Prestwikc st Nicholas beat their visitors from Annanhill by 4-2.

With Three fixures remaining to be played, Ayr Belleisle have already secured their place in the knockout stages.

In GROUP 7, Rowallan Castle's recent fixture against drongan was postponed due to a weather course closure.

With just two fixtures remaining to be completed, Drongan cannot be caught, and have secured their place in the knockout stages where they will face home and away ties against Ayr Belleisle for a place in the semi finals.

In GROUP 8, Ballochmyle had an important 4.5-1.5 home win over Alton in their penultimate fixture to move to the top of the table, with the return fixture due to be a qualification decider between the two clubs.
