With the first two of the qualifying events in the 2019
Ayrshire Junior Order of merit now completed, Dylan Cairns (Prestwick St
Nicholas) leads the way in the chase for the title.
No points were gained by any Ayrshire players in the
Scottish Open Strokeplay Championship at West Kilbride in April but a good
field in the first local event, the Golf South Ayrshire Junior Open played at
Ayr Seafield on 8th June, saw several players record the first
points of the season.
A scratch score of 76 was good enough for Dylan Cairns to
take maximum points, just one shot ahead of the title holder John McCracken
(Kilmarnock Barassie).
