Loudoun Gowf Club remain on course to win Division 2 of the 2012 West Of Scotland Inter Club leagues for the Greenlees Trophy as the competition enters its final few weeks.
After winning Division 3 in some style in 2011, Loudoun have continued their good form throughout this season having won all their matches so far.
Despite being three down after the first three ties in their latest match at Prestwick St Nicholas on Monday 6th August, the LOudoun team fought back to take 5.5 of the remaining 6 points available, to record another win in the chase for the title.
Present postions in DIVISION 2 are :-
38.0 - LOUDOUN
29.0 - PRESTWICK ST NICHOLAS
28.0 - OLD RANFURLY
27.0 - HAGGS CASTLE
26.5 - DOUGLAS PARK
16.0 - CARDROSS
14.5 - ERSKINE
11.5 - EASTWOOD
7.5 - HILTON PARK
The remaining Ayrshire clubs are all contesting Division 1, where recent results for the local sides have been mixed.
West Kilbride had a 6 - 3 home win over leaders Ranfurly Castle but in their next match went down by 7 - 2 at Kilmarnock Barassie, which was a welcome result for Barassie after a 5 - 4 loss at Largs in their previous match.
Following their win over Barassie, largs crashed to an 8 - 1 defeat at Milngavie.
Troon ladies brought more bad news with a 5 - 4 defeat at home, at the hands of Cathkin Braes.
