DOC THOM AYRSHIRE ORDER OF MERIT - Hamilton leads the way into busy August

The chase for the Doc Thom Salver and Ayrshire Order Of Merit crown enters a busyperiod over the next few weeks, with four of the remaining five counting events being staged in August.

Craig Hamilton (Ballochmyle) leads the way from David Wilson (Troon Welbeck), with Keith Hamilton (Ayr Belleisle) in third place.

The Scottish Amateur Championship, which concludes this weekend, will be followed by the Stevenson Trophy at Girvan on Sunday 5th August, the Viking Krus at largs on Sunday 19th and the Welbeck Links at Troon on Sunday 26th.

The final event is the Arrol Cup at Prestwick St Nicholas which takes place on Saturday 15th September.
