(Report by Ayrshire Ladies Gounty Golf Association Junior Convenor June Kerr) Kennedy Salver Win for Lanarkshire Girls Lanarkshire's Girls' Team came out on top in the West Division Inter-County Junior Matches played at West Kilbride yesterday. The defending champions Ayrshire made a solid start, winning all three foursomes matches in the morning to take the lead on 3 points with Lanarkshire close behind on 2, Renfrewshire 1 and Dumbarton & Argyll. 0. Playing in sunshine but with a very strong wind in the afternoon, the Lanarkshire girls forged ahead winning 5 out of their 6 singles matches to give them 7 points overall for victory. Ayrshire were runners-up on 5, Renfrewshire 4 and Dumbarton & Argyll 2. For Junior Convenors and spectators alike, it was a joy to see all the girls enjoying themselves and playing their games in the true spirit of golf. | ||||
