The 36 hole event is in its 61st year and is one of the premier events in the county and a major counting event in the Ayrshire Junior Order Of Merit.
Holder Callum Beveridge (Troon Welbeck) returns to defend the title he won in a play off last year at Prestwick St Nicholas.
The top eight players in the championship will progress to contest the 2012 Ayrshire Boys Matchplay Championship at Prestwick Golf Club from 7th to 9th August.
The winner will also be nominated to play in the SGU Junior Champion Of Champions event later in the year.
There are still a small number of places available in the field for the Ayrshire Boys Championship, which will be filled on a first come first served basis.
Entry is £10 and the entry forlm can be downloaded direct from theis page via the appropriate link on the left, under the 'Juniors Info' heading.
Players should note that no additional games will be added on the day and the only entries which will be accepted on the day will be as replacements for late call offs.
Any player who has not yet entered the competition should do so by submitting an entry form, along with the entry fee, as soon as possible.
