CHAMPION OF CHAMPIONS - Graham first into semi finals as quarter fianl line up is confirmed

The quarter final line up for the 2012 Ayrshire Golf Association Champion Of Champions Trophy competition was confirmed this week, whilst James Graham (Doon Valley) has claimed the first of the four semi final places at Royal Troon next month.

In his third round tie, Graham received a walkover from Robert Steele (Prestwick St Cuthbert) due to his opponent being injured and Graham then went on to play his home quarter final tie against David Kinnell (Saxone) and booked his place in the last four with a 6 & 5 win.

In their third round tie, Euan Brown (Kilmarnock Barassie) beat his visitor Scott Gilchrist (Loudoun) by 5 & 3 to secure a home tie in the quarter finals against Paul Giffney (Ardeer)

In the quarter finals, Gordon Boyle (Ayr Belleisle) will face a home tie against Alan McNeil (Largs Routenburn) after McNeil received a walkover against Alan Poole (Prestwick St Nicholas)

Steven McEwan (Caprington) also had a walkover against Jim Shearer (West Kilbride) and now faces a home tie in the quarter finals against Michael Smyth (Royal Troon) who beat his visitor in the third round, Andrew Cunning (Muirkirk) by 9 & 7.

All the quarter final matches are scheduled to be completed by 29th July with the semi finals to be played at Royal Troon on Friday 3rd August and the final scheduled to be played at the same venue on Friday 10th August.
