DOC THOM AYRSHIRE ORDER OF MERIT - Hamilton moves into pole position

With 10 of the 16 qualifying competitions now completed, Craig Hamilton (Ballochmyle) has take over the lead in the chase for the Doc Thom salver, from david Wilson (Troon Welbeck).

A win in the new 36 hole Gowf Cup at Loudoun shot Hamilton to the top of the table.

The next counting event is the re arranged McGilchrist Cup at Ardeer which takes place on Saturday 21st July.

August sees four of the  remaining events, with the Scottish Amateur Championship at Royal Dornoch, the Stevenson Trophy at Girvan on the 5th , the Viking Krus at Largs on  the 19th and the Welbeck Links at Troon Municipal on the 26th.

The final qualifying competition will be the Arrol Cup at Prestwick St Nicholas on 15th September.
