The four sections of the Ayrshire Junior Golf League Championship competition are progressing well with a number of matches being played in all four sections recently.
In SECTION A, Prestwick St Cuthbert opened their season with a 6 - 0 away win at Irvine Ravenspark.

In SECTION B, Largs have faultered over recentmatches, with 5 - 1 defeats away to Loudoun and Ardeer and a 3 - 3 draw in the return against Ardeer at Largs, allowing Ardeer to take over top spot on tie difference. Loudoun maintained their challenge with a 4 - 2 away win at Prestwick St Nicholas.

In SECTION C, defending champions Irvine look favourites to clinch the semi final place, in their bid to retain the championship, following home wins by 5 - 1 and 6 - 0 over Troon Welbeck and Troon St Meddans respectively.

In SECTION D there is only one fixture remaining to be played, which will be a possible section decider between Kilmarnock Barassie and West Kilbride, at Barassie, with the home side needing only a half match, to ensure a place in the semi finals. Depending on the result however, Ayr Belleisle could still clinch a place in the semi finals.
The Barassie team won their two home matches recently by 5 - 1 and 4 - 2 over Caprington and Ayr Belleisle whilst Ayr Belleisle completed their own 100% home record for the season with a 3.5 - 2.5 win over West Kilbride and a 4.5 - 1.5 win over Kilmarnock Barassie.

In the UNDER 16 KNOCKOUT TROPHY competition. Ayr Belleisle are the first team into the semi finals following a 3.5 - 0.5 home win over Caprington.
In the WALLACE THORNTON TROPHY competition, two matches have been played so far in Section 1.
In the opening fixture, holders Troon Welbeck beat 2011 runners up Kilmarnock Barassie by 3 - 1 at Barassie, who bounced back in their second fixture with a 3 - 1 home win over West Kilbride.
Matches in Section 2 have not yet started.
