The three local players who featured in the local final qualifying for the Open Championship recently were out of luck in their bid for a place in the field of the world's oldest Major.
In a field of 42 playing for a handful of places in the championship, Jack Doherty (North gailes) was the closest to the qualifying score of five under par, his trounds of 73 & 72 giving him a one over par total.
Michael Stewart (Troon Welbeck) returned rounds of 71 and 77 for a four over par total whilst Ian Colquhoun (Dundonald Links) wa 14 over par with rounds of 78 & 80.
