Ayrshire's bid to retain the David Wishart Trophy and West of Scotland Inter County Under 18 Champions title suffered a setback on Sunday 21st July when they were defeated in their third match in the series by Glasgow at Ballochmyle.
Ayrshire started brightly with comfortable wins by Harvey Broadfoot (Troon Welbeck) and Kerr Brooks (Irvine) in two of the four under 16 ties, but a 372 loss for Fraser Russell (Royal Troon) and a last hole defeat for Dylan Cairns (Prestwick St Nicholas) saw he under 16 tiesl shared 2 - 2.
Jack Allan (Ballochmyle) won by 4 & 3 in his tie but defeats by 5 & 4 for Ross McDonald and 2 & 1 for Sean Addie (Ayr Belleisle) in the anchor tie edged Glasgow ahead 4 - 3.
In the final tie on the course, Chris Hunter (Ballochmyle) halved with his opponend which saw Glasgow gain the crucial half point for victory overall in the match.

Ayrshire's penultimate match in the series is against Renfrewshire at Caldwell on Sunday 11th August.
