Scotland
will face England in the semi finals of the European Men’s team Championship at
Ljunghusen Golf Club in Sweden on Friday, 12th July, after
overcoming Spain in their quarter final match on Thursday.
Scotland
took both foursomes ties in the morning, with Euan Walker (Kilmarnock Barassie)
combining with Euan McIntosh to secure a single hole win.
Despite Walker losing his afternoon singles tie, Scotland won two and a halfo points
from the five singles in the afternoon to win the overall match by 4.5 – 2.5.

In the
European Ladies’ Team Championship, being played at Is Molas Golf Club in
Italy, Scotland lost out to Spain in their quarter final match on Thursday by
4-3.
Hazel McGarvie
(Royal Troon) paired up with Chloe Goadby in the morning foursomes, winning by
2&1 as the foursomes were shared 1-1 overall.
In a tight
match the afternoon singles were poised at 2-2 with just McGarvie’s tie
remaining to be decided. All square after eighteen holes, the match went into
extra holes but unfortunately the 20th was lost by McGarvie and the
match slipped from Scotland .

On Friday
Scotland play Ireland in the matches to determine who finishes 5th
to 8th in the championship.
In the Europeam
Boys’ Team Championship Division 2 matches being played at Toya Golf &
Country Club Wrocław, Poland this week, Scotland moved into joint top spot with
Wales after the second round of strokeplay qualifying on 11 over par 731.
Ruben
Lindsay (Ayr Belleisle) added a second round of 71 to his score for a total of
144 which saw him move up to joint third in the individual table, just one shot
behind the leading two players on 143.
The
championship moves to matchplay on Friday where Scotland will face Russia and
wales take on Belgium in the Flight A matches to determine the ultimate winners
and the 1st to 4th places in the event.
