EUROPEAN TEAM CHAMPIONSHIPS - Scotland finish third in men's event.


Scotland finished in third place in the European Mens team Championship at Ljunghusen Golf Club in Sweden on Saturday 13th July when they defeated Denmark 4 – 3 in their final fixture of the event.

Euan Walker (Kilmarnock Barassie) again partnered Euan McIntosh in the morning foursomes which were won 2 – 0 by Scotland and despite losing the afternoon singles series, Ryan Lumsden and Euan walker both secured single hole victories in their ties to give Scotland the win overall in the match.

Euan McIntosh & Euan Walker beat John Axelsen & Alexander George Frances by 4&3

In the championship final, Sweden beat England by 4.5 – 2.5

In the European Ladies’ Team Championship played at Is Molas Golf Club in Italy, Scotland finished in sixth place after losing their final match of the championship to England.

Scotland won the foursomes tie by a single hole but only Shannon McWilliam could add a further point for Scotland as they went down 3 – 2 overall.

The disappointment of losing her final singles tie of the week was tempered for Hazel McGarvie (Royal Troon) when she recorded another competitive hole in one, just two weeks after having one during the Vagliano Trophy matches between G.B & I and Europe.
