Euan Walker (Kilmarnock Barassie) and Hazel McGarvie (Royal
Troon) led the way as the Scotland Men’s team qualified in third place and the
Scotland Woman’s teams qualified in fourth place for the matchplay stages of
the European men’s and Woman’s Team Championships being played this week at Ljunghusen
Golf Club in Sweden and Molas Golf Club in Italy respectively.
Euan Walker had eight birdies in a seven under par round of 65
in the second strokeplay qualifying round on Wednesday, to finish leading
individual player on 132.
Ireland, on 701, were the top qualifiers followed by England
on 704 and Scotland on 710.

In the Woman’s competition the top individual performances
were recorded by Hannah Darling (Broomieknowe)
and Hazel MacGarvie (Royal Troon) who both finished tied ninth on three under par for the two strokeplay qualifying rounds.
Italy lead the qualifiers on 701, followed by Sweden on 705
and Germany on 716, just one ahead of Scotland in fourth place on 717.

of the European Boy’s team Championship, being played at Toya Golf & Country Club in Wrocław, Poland from 10th to 13th July,
and the Scots lie in second place, behind Wales, after the opening strokeplay
round on Wednesday.
