Scotland lost
out to England in the semi finals of the European Men’s Team Championship at Ljunghusen
Golf Club in Sweden on Friday, 12th July, going down by 4 – 3 in the
match.
Euan Walker
(Kilmarnock Barassie) and Euan McIntosh lost their morning foursomes on the
final green and the scots went into the afternoon singles 2 – 0 down.
Wins by
Sandy Scott in the lead tie and Ryan Lumsden in the anchor tie, along with a
single hole win by Euan Walker gave the Scots some hope but James Wilson and
Jamie Stewart lost on the sixteenth and seventeenth holes respectively to give
England a 4 – 3 win and a place in the final.

On Saturday
Scotland will play off with Denmark for third place in the championship.
In the
European Ladies Championship, being played at Is Molas Golf Club in Italy,
Scotland beat Ireland 3.5 – 1.5 on Friday in the matches to determine the teams
placed 5th to 8th in the championship.
Despite
losing the one foursomes tie heavily, Scotland took 3.5 points out of four in
the singles, which included a walkover awarded to Hazel McGarvie (Royal Troon)

championship.
In the semi
finals of the European Boys team Championship Division 2, Scotland lost 5 – 2 to
Russia on Friday at Toya Golf & Country Club in Wrocław, Poland.
Scotland
lost the two morning foursomes and three of the five afternoon singles, with
the outstanding performance from the Scots coming from Ruben Lindsay (Ayr
Belleisle) who recorded an 8&7 victory in his singles tie.
