Scotland Girl’s team go into the final day
of the Girl’s Home Internationals at Conwyn, Wales, on Friday 5th
August, knowing that a draw against Ireland will be good enough to win the Home
Internationals title in nine years.
Playing against the defending champions,
England on the second day, Scotland took a 2.5 – 0.5 lead after the foursomes
with Hazel McGarvie (Troon Ladies) contributing with a 5 & 4 victory.
In the afternoon singles, Louise Duncan
(West Kilbrdie) halved her match whilst Hazel McGarvie won by 5 & 3.
Scotland eventually overcame England by 6 –

In the Woman’s
Home Internationals, also being played at Conwyn, Wales, Scotland suffered a
second successive defeat in the series, going down by 6 – 3 overall for their
second defeat of the week.
Scotland led 2 –
1 after the morning foursomes, With Connie Jaffrey (Troon Ladies) combining
with Clara Young to win their tie by 3 & 1.
In the
afternoon singles, England almost swept the board, winning by 5 – 1 overall.
