With two rounds of strokeplay qualifying on Friday 15th May, and the top eight of the sixteen areas going through to the matchplay rounds, the best five scores from six over both the Landsdowne and Rosemount courses counted towards the team total.
Ayrshire's score over the Lansdowne course was 370, with Jack McDonald (71), Stuart Robin (75), John Shanks (71), Keith Hamilton (78) and Scott Brown (75) providing the counting scores and Tommy McInally's score of 79 being discarded.
On the Rosemount course the Ayrshire team total was 359 with jack McDonald (68), stuart Robin (69), John Shanks (75), Keith Hamilton (73) & Tommy McInally (74) providing the counting scores and Scott Brown's score of 76 being discarded.
The team total of 729 left Ayrshire comfortably in sixth place of the eight qualifiers, eight shots ahead of the North east in seventh place.

The quarter final matches take place on Saturday morning, 16th May, with the semi finals in the afternoon. The format for the quarter and semi finals is four singles matches and one foursome.
