With all second round matches due to be completed by Sunday 17th May, there are six results still outstanding.John Shanks (Irvine) recently booked his place in the last sixteen with a one hole victory away from home against Gordon Johnston (Kilbirnie Place). In the third round Shanks will be at home in a difficult tie against five times winner Tommy McInally (Loudoun).
Andy Power (Troon St Meddans) had a 5 & 3 home win over Kevin Coupland (Malletsheugh) to set up a third round away tie against Frank Murdoch (Brunston Castle).
Also away from home in the third round, against Stuart Miller (Kilmarnock Barassie), is Scott Ainsworth (Ardeer) who had a home win in round two over Alan Smeeton (The Chase).
The only other result posted recently saw Gregor Mackintosh (Girvan) lose at home by 3 & 2 to Kieran Clark (Braehaed). Clark will be away from home again in the third round at Rowallan Castle or Troon St Meddans.
