Ayrshire's two remaining players in the 2013 Scottish Boys Championships, being played this week at Monifieth, won their fifth round ties on Thursday to secure their place in the Friday morning quarter finals.
Playing against the eighth seed Callum Hill (Tantallon), Stuart Easton (Irvine) edged to a two hole lead at the turn. A run of three successive 3's from the 11th through to the 14th saw him win two of the three holes on his way to a 5 & 4 win.
In the quarter finals Easton faces the number one seed, Ewan Scott (St Andrews New).
Euan Walker (Kilmarnock Barassie) was behind in his match against fifth seed Alan Waugh (Cowglen) from as early as the third hole and was two behind with four to play before finishing par, par, birdie, birdie to take three of the final four holes for a one hole victory.
In the quarter finals walker will play Ben Kinsley (St Andrews New), for a place in the last four.
