AYRSHIRE BOYS CHAMPIONSHIP - Harvey Broadfoot retains county title at Loudoun

Harvey Broadfoot (Royal Troon)
retained the Ayrshire Boys Championship, when the 2022 event took place at Loudoun Gowf Club on Thursday the 4th of August.

An opening one under par round of 67 set Harvey up for a second successive title, and in the afternoon he added a level par score of 68 for a two round scratch total of 135, one under par, to take the title again by a full five shots from his nearest challenger Max Barclay (Ayr Belleisle), who was just one shot behind at the half way stage following a first round score of 68, but faded a little in the afternoon, scoring 72 for a 140 total over 36 holes.

Jack Broadfoot (Troon Welbeck), Jack Ramsay (Kilmarnock Barassie) and Connor Wills (Royal Troon) were next best scratch on 145. 

The bbest handicap score of the day was returned by Lewis Trundle (Irvine) with rounds of 71 and 64 off his handicap of 13, for a135 total, two ahead of Harvey Broadfoot and three better than Finlay watt (West Kilbride) who scored 74 and 65, playing off 7, for his 139 total.

The main prize winners were:-


Ayrshire Golf Association President Scott Gilchrist, of the host club, along with Boy's Team manager Sandy Walker (Kilmarnock Barassie) presented vouchers to the successful competitors, before handing over the trophy to the two times champion Harvey Broadfoot.
