BRITISH GIRLS CHAMPIONSHIP - Ayrshire duo lose in round one of matchplay stages.

The two Ayrshire players who qualified for the matchplay stages of the British Girls Championship, being played this week at Masserene Golf Club in Northern Ireland, both lost in the first round.

In the opening matchplay round, played on Wednesday 13 August, Connie Jaffrey lost 5 & 3 to Elena Zumga from Spain whilst Emma Hale was defeated 5 & 4 by Michaela Finn from Sweden.
 
Only four Scots entered the championship, and the other matchplay qualifier, Clara Young of  North Berwick also lost in the first round, by 4 & 3 to Ciara Carey from ireland.
 
The other Scot who entered was the current Scottish Girls Champion from Germany, Fiona Liddell, who was unsuccessful in making the matchplay rounds.
