
In Division 1, Loudoun Gowf Club, who stormed to successive third and second division titles in their first two years of membership, have begun their bid for a third successive league crown with impressive home wins in their opening two matches of the season, by 7.5 - 1.5 against Troon Ladies and 6.5 - 2.5 against Kilmarnock (Barassie).
Kilmarnock (Barassie) are still seeking their first win of the season after losing their opening fixture by 5.5 - 3.5 at home to Milngavie.
Although defeated by Loudoun, Troon Ladies had a good home win, by 8 - 1, over Haggs Castle in the other fixture played so far.
The other Ayrshire team in Division 1, Largs, opened their campaign with a 5.5 - 3.5 win away to Haggs Castle.
In Division 2, Prestwick St Nicholas opened with a 5.5 - 3.5 defeat at Kilmacolm but atoned for the opening loss with a 6 - 3 home win over Cardross in their second match of the campaign.
The other Ayrshire side in Division 2, West Kilbride, play their first match at the beginning of June.
