GREENLEES LADIES INTER CLUB LEAGUES - Loudoun open bid for three in a row

Ayrshire have a number of clubs competing in divisions one and two of the 2013 West Of Scotland Inter Club Scratch Leagues for the Greenlees Trophy, with matches now well under way.

In Division 1, Loudoun Gowf Club, who stormed to successive third and second division titles in their first two years of membership, have begun their bid for a third successive league crown with impressive home wins in their opening two matches of the season, by 7.5 - 1.5 against Troon Ladies and 6.5 - 2.5 against Kilmarnock (Barassie).

Kilmarnock (Barassie) are still seeking their first win of the season after losing their opening fixture by 5.5 - 3.5 at home to Milngavie.

Although defeated by Loudoun, Troon Ladies had a good home win, by 8 - 1, over Haggs Castle in the other fixture played so far.

The other Ayrshire team in Division 1, Largs, opened their campaign with a 5.5 - 3.5 win away to Haggs Castle.

In Division 2, Prestwick St Nicholas opened with a 5.5 - 3.5 defeat at Kilmacolm but atoned for the opening loss with a 6 - 3 home win over Cardross in their second match of the campaign.

The other Ayrshire side in Division 2, West Kilbride, play their first match at the beginning of June.
