Ayrshire found themselves trailing by 3.5 - 2.5 after the morning foursomes and with only a half point gained from the four Under 16 singles matches in the afternoon it looked likely that South OF Scotland would retain the trophy but with three wins and a half from the four Under 18 ties, Ayrshire slowly brought themselves back into the match. In the four youths singles ties, Ayrshire came out on top in three, giving them a crucial winning total of 9.5 ties to keep the trophy in Ayrshire in 2013.
