AYRSHIRE Vs SOUTH OF SCOTLAND - Ayrshire take the honours in rearranged Centenary Trophy match

The Centenary Trophy match between Ayrshire and the South Of Scotland, which was postponed in March, was successfully completed on Sunday 5th May at Brunston Castle with Ayrshire taking the honours in a close match by 9.5 - 8.5.

Ayrshire found themselves trailing by 3.5 - 2.5 after the morning foursomes and with only a half point gained from the four Under 16 singles matches in the afternoon it looked likely that South OF Scotland would retain the trophy but with three wins and a half from the four Under 18 ties, Ayrshire slowly brought themselves back into the match. In the four youths singles ties, Ayrshire came out on top in three, giving them a crucial winning total of 9.5 ties to keep the trophy in Ayrshire in 2013.
