Ayrshire's interest in the Amateur Championship, being played this week at Royal St Georges GC, ended on Wednesday with both locally connected players bowing out in the first round proper of matchplay.Euan Walker (Kilmarnock Barassie) lost by 3 & 2 to England's Jordan Sundborg (Shanklin & Sandown), whilst Australian Ben Ferguson, who's family roots are in Maybole, lost by the same margin to Scotland's Robert McIntyre (Glencruitten)
