AYRSHIRE FOURBALL - Round 1 results and round 2 ties

Only one tie remains to be reported in round 1 of the 2012 Ayrshire Fourball Championship.

In the outstanding ties played recently, Kevin Brock & Russell Whittaker (Prestwick St Nicholas) had a hard battle at home to Alan Mulholland & James McGill (Moorpark) before winning a place in the second round at the 20th hole.

The St Nicholas duo will now be at home to Ricky Black & Keith Fairley (Irvine) who beat John Cavens & Christopher McGhee (Tam O Shanter) away from home in round 1.

Willie Morgan & Willie Morgan Jnr (Irvine Ravenspark) had a 2 & 1 home win over Andrew Cumming & John Renwick (Muirkirk) to book a second round home tie against Alan McDougall & Shaun Granger (Ayr Seafield), whilst a 5 & 4 home win by Robert Marshall & Philip Rooney (Beith) over David Patterson & Brian McTaggart (Ayr Carrick) saw them through to a second round tie at home to Alan Gaff & Alan Copland (Girvan).

John Batchelor & Gavin Strang (Ballochmyle) had a 5 & 3 home win over Thomas McGill & Jimmy Lynch (Malletsheugh) to book a second round match away to James Graham & Marc Wallace (Doon Valley) whilst Michael & Stephen Holland (Troon Welbeck) will be away from home at Largs Routenburn after a win by 1 hole on their visit to play Andrew Brown & John McBean (Ayr Belleisle) in round 1.

The only outstanding result from round 1 is the tie between A Cherry & E McFadden (Troon St Meddans) and Peter & Bryan Gossman (West Kilbride).
