PRESIDENT'S PUTTER - first round ties completed

The first round ties in the 2026 handicap club team knockout competition for The President's Putter were completed this week, with the second round pairings confirmed, and two more clubs also booking their places in round three.

In the four first round ties, Portmann had a 2-1 away win against Loudoun and Alton won by 2.5-0.5 away to Kilmarnock Barassie, while Tam O Shanter had a home win over Royal Troon by 2.5-0.5 and Caprington had a 2-1 home win over Redburn.

In the second round Auchenharvie 88 had a 2.5-0.5 win over their visitors from Ballochmyle, while the trophy holders from Irvine Ravenspark were beaten 2-1 in a very close match away from home by Troon St Meddans, who they Irvine club had beaten to take the trophy in the 2025 final.
