WEST OF SCOTLAND INTER COUNTY UNDER 18 BOYS LEAGUE - Ayrshire draw away to Glasgow

Ayrshire lie in second place in the West of Scotland Inter County Under 18 Boys League, for The Wishart Trophy, after completion of the third series of fixtures on Sunday the 28th of July.

In their latest match, against Glasgow at Ralston, the Ayrshire team were losing 4-3 with one tie remaining on the course, involving Dylan Scally (West Kilbride) and Joe Lynch of the host club. In the final tie, Lynch turned a single hole deficit with two to pllay into a single hole win to give Glasgow a 5-3 win in the match.

Some time after completion of the match, it came to light that the Glasgow player involved in the final tie was in fact over age and not eligible to take part in the match in the match, and consequently the tie was awarded to Ayrshire, resulting in a 4-4 match score overall.

Fraser Craib (Sandyhills) lost to Liam Moran (Irvine) by 5&4

Gregor Campbell (Glasgow) beat Aidan Hay (Irvine) by 2&1

Reece Coyle (Ralston) beat Lyle Vogwell (West Kilbride) by 2&1

Brandon Melville (Haggs Castle) lost to Scott Newman (West Kilbride) by 7&6

Fraser Thomson (Pollok) lost to Harris Fleming (Royal Troon) by 3&2

Toby Mathers (Pollok) beat Jack Broadfoot (Royal Troon) by 5&4

Joe Lynch (Ralston) Disqualified against Dylan Scally (West Kilbride) W/O

In the other match played on Sunday the 28th of July, Lanarkshire and Dumbartonshire drew 4 - 4 at Colville Park GC.

The next series of matches take place in August, Dumbartonshire hosting Stirlingshire at Clober and Ayrshire hosting Renfrewshire at Ayr Belleisle, on Sunday the 18th, and Glasgow scheduled to host lanarkshire at a venue and date to be confirmed.
