EUROPEAN TEAM CHAMPIONSHIPS - Freya Russell in Scotland women's team in Spain

Freya Russell (Royal Troon) was Ayrshoire's only representative in the European Golf Association Team Championships, at boys, girls, women's and men's level, which were played between the 9th and the 13th of July.

Played at Real Sociedad Hípica Española Club de Campo in Spain, the Scotland Women's team qualified for the second flight of the matchplay, in fourteenth place overall following the strokeplay qualifying rounds, and eventually secured second place in the flight, and tenth place overall, beating Belgium 4 - 1 in the quarter final match and netherlands by 3.5 - 1.5 in the semi final, before losing out to Wales in the final by 3 - 2.
