The Ayrshire A team secured victory at Prestwick St Cuthbert GC on Sunday 31st march in the annual match against the previous seasons Scratch league Division 1 winners.Both teams fielded very strong teams in the match which was played in fine conditions.
The Ayrshire side was led by Scotland internationalist and African Amateur Strokeplay Champion Euan Walker (Kilmarnock Barassie) who got the county side off to a winning start with a 2&1 win over Stuart Robin.
Toimmy McInally (Louodun) and John Shanks (Irvine) added wins by the same margin over Scott Brown & Steven Wallace respectively.
In the anchor tie, Robbie Muir (Kilmarnock Barassie) beat Steven Gillies by 3&1 whilst Craig Hamilton overcame Graeme Gimson by 4&3 in their tie to give Ayrshire a 5 - 0 advantage.
The only reverse suffered by Ayrshire in the match came when Michael Smyth (Royal Troon) lost out to Craig Telfer by 2 holes.
